Hope Givers Working Ranch

Mission Statement:

Hope Givers Working Ranch is a place where young men will have the opportunity to work with horses, cattle, and mentors from all walks of life to gain education, outstanding moral, social and behavior skills.  These men will develop leadership, communication, and people skills that will turn them into eagles among men.

The Vision:

It’s time for Hope Givers Working Ranch to become reality as it’s been a vision for 10 years now. We believe this is a God breathed vision and to not act on it would be disobedience. As a result Hope Givers Ranch has created a 501 ( C ) 3 non-for-profit to support funding to expand upon.

The plan includes:
1000 acres with a viable western town, called Segundo. Open to the public and run by these young men and their mentors.

  • Restaurant
  • General Store
  • Blacksmith Shop
  • Leather and Saddle shop
  • Church
  • Bunk houses for these young men and an on premise school
  • Indoor and outdoor riding arenas, barns for cattle, horses, hay and feed, storage and machinery
  • Be home to quality Angus and Maine Anjou Cattle
  • Breed and raise quarter horses and offer training and shoeing services
  • Grow its own crops for Hay and Grain for livestock, as well as fruits and vegetables
  • Host livestock shows and auctions for cattle and horses, Rodeos, clinics, trail rides and seminars

As you can see this is a project with numerous entities with one common goal: to benefit the young men living and working there and ultimately the communities they will impact after they leave.

I am part of a team that serves the boys in Camp Avery Correctional institution. I am confident there is a void after men leave these types of facilities.  The void I speak of is where these men return to the same negative environment they came from where it seems almost impossible to stay in a positive direction. This is the fuel that has sparked the Idea of Hope Givers Working Ranch.  ~Dennis Cappel
