About Us

Dennis grew up on a cattle farm in Troy, MO, where his passion for livestock began. They raised registered Angus show cattle and he participated in 4-H and FFA in High School.While attending the University of Missouri he received his degree in Animal Science. He worked on the research farm, judging teams, fitted bulls for the public For bull sales, and showed cattle for the public at the State fairs and National Livestock shows.

After graduation he worked at Briarwood Angus Farms in Butler, MO in charge of the purebred and commercial cow herds. Using horses on this ranch is where Dennis’ interest for horses was inspired. This is where he learned to rope and shoe and the value of a well broke horse. He then started his pursuit to train horses.

Dennis has successfully trained roping, cutting, and working cow horses with several World Champions in the mix. With his down to earth way and easy to understand Communication skills he has become a world renowned clinicians, teacher and motivator throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Currently Dennis trains horses for the public from all aspects of the horse world, shows cutting horses, and competes in Ranch horse shows and is a ARHA judge. Dennis is founder and instructor for Cappel Systems Weekend Horseshoeing Classes. Dennis and his wife, Cindy, have developed Cappel Systems Holistic approach to equine which includes Colt Starting, Personalized Training, Shoeing Classes, Nutrition for humans and horses , and an equine video library.

Cindy’s passion is helping people realize and reach their full potential. She encourages them to look beyond their circumstances and lifts them to recognize Their strength to keep pushing on towards the mark. Cindy has a background in showing horses, leader in 4-H horsemanship, judging and instructing. Being an entrepreneur of several restaurants/catering the love of people and good customer service is her strong suite. Cindy is an herbalist, owned/Operated C. Cappel’s Health & Horse Stop where she counseled, directed people and wrote articles on proper preventative nutrition and lifestyles for The health of the mind, body and spirit. She is founder of Heart of A Horsewoman and is working with others to reach out to build stable, joyful horsewomen. Cindy’s daughter and two sons have been an inspiration for her to bring strength, leadership, value and acceptance for the next generation.
