Brilliant Attitude is an amazing animal. He is exactly what I had written back in March that I wanted him to be. This mustang is strong, beautiful, intelligent and easy to train. He is a “thinking” horse that responds to his thoughts which at this stage of handling is very unusual.
In fact it is much mores common to have the horses so reactive and defensive at this point that they can be very dangerous at times.
This horse though has already expressed signs of his protection of me from other horses getting to close for his comfort to me. Hard not to love that.
I am sticking to my original plan of taking him through the Cappel Equestrian Courses. He will be going through course one which is essential groundwork before I ride him. He is doing everything I ask him to do with a sort of willing nonchalant air of got that what’s next. This really is fun!!
These pictures were taken on Day 8 of Brilliant Attitude being here…
He is completing lesson one of the groundwork which is changing eyes.
Laying a foundation is a must but more than not is overlooked as being too simple.
Changing eyes requires him to look me up at my slightly try and move from the pressure I apply.
Brilliant Attitude was very responsive quickly to this exercise with a good attitude. Just exactly what my clear mental picture was. As I always say the horse needs to see my picture so clearly that he steps into it.
Wear a Brilliant Attitude,
