The training path like anything else, you have to have some kind of foundation to stand on. Like Apostle Paul said, study to show yourself approved. You have to do your homework on understanding horses, how they think, how they act and how to communicate with them somehow, as you establish the ability to communicate with horse’s it is absolutely essential that you incorporate a mindset that will work for you and not against you.
Mindset left to its own development will sabotage any if not all of your effects to proceed forward in the learning process with a horse. For that matter, on anything in life!
There is no magic wand to wave or hocus pocus words you can use, however, with understanding and knowledge and a definite purpose any body can succeed in communicating with a horse.
There’s nothing quit as frustrating as to put time in to study and then have it under minded by your habitual actions and old way of thinking.
Anytime there is doubt in your mind, uncertainty, excuses or blaming anything other than yourself you can rest assured you are hearing from your old habitual way of thinking.
The old habitual way of thinking was programmed into your mind long before you had a say in the matter. The people around you and the environment you grew up in programmed it for you by how they talked to you and how your surroundings made you feel. Now it is a reflection of how you see yourself and left to its own accord will control the outcome of your life and cause you at times to feel like you don’t have control over much of anything. The good news is that when you become aware of how the old program was put in from the begging, nothing could be further from the truth. You do hold within you the ability to do anything you choose to do.
I invite you to join Lance and myself on this journey .We both started preparing for this event several weeks ago with a program from Bob Proctor called” The Winner’s Image”. I think it is the mental aspect of this adventure that Lance is enjoying the most. He realizes that the Mustang Makeover is an opportunity to experience what he is learning.
The mustangs are being picked up today April 2nd by Lance and his father David Dixon as I am in Iowa at the horse fair competing in the Colt Starting competition. They will be put in my barn waiting for my return tomorrow.
We both will be blogging right here on the entire journey and I feel certain that you will be enlightened to put yourself in with us as we take this trip together. Hang on it will be a wild ride!
Check out our Mustang Fridays where you are invited to come to the barn and hear and watch the training progress. It is the last Friday of April, May and June.
