Horse training is taking raw institual behavior of the horse and will techniques that have been continually honed to develop you in the most effective ways. We prepare horse for the enjoyment of their owners. We assist them to develop understanding between each other that forms a relationship where horse and human enjoy the experience of it.
Developing over lifetime of reading livestock from cattle to horses its always been intrigued to me it is the mix of several instincts and how thoughts trigger flesh and bone to move or not move. Understanding can produce peace and the lack of it produces resistance.
Produces attitude of peacefulness in the atmosphere of understanding.
By arranging my thoughts and action in a way to produce the horses thoughts and actions to response to mine. Which makes my Clear Mental Picture come to life.
Clear mental picture is everything in my horse training. The image I hold in my mind of what I want the horse to look like, act life, feel like gives me my timing and feel to do what when. My clear mental image will be manifested with every thought which produces movement but always the horse finds peace and agreement with my thoughts and actions. I call this being in the “sweet spot”. The sweet spot teaches the horse how to learn because when the handler is consistent in letting the horse find comfort there the horse in turn starts looking for that. It becomes a desire for the horse to try. This Horse will search for my clear mental picture. This desire will increase with consistency from the handler and will open the door for the horse to reach their full potential unhindered with resistance. Resistance is usually what keeps horse from really their full potential and can causes them too to return to a self-preserving mindset that doesn’t feel good for them or the rider.
Value in the “release” can only be found with resistance. Value in the resistance can only be found in the release. Both of them have really equal value.
Horse Training with non-resistance comes from my clear mental picture.
Resistance from the horse with hands and legs can only have value when the horse agrees and softens for them to experience complete release at that exact moment.
Horse that never experience the resistance and only experience the peace of no resistance will become controlling to the handler and resentful toward them for trying to interfere in their lives. Why should they the horse do anything that you want them to do if they don’t have too.?
Key is to make what you want them to do the path of less resistance, so they eagerly want to do what you want them to do.
Resistance or Non-resistance with understanding makes the path of less resistance more for the horse. That is trained into them with the consistent allowance of them feeling complete release from my hands and legs.
Body control is part to of the process as well. Each time I can show horse that when they feel resistance from me in certain way and if they in return move in a certain way they will experience complete release from my hands and or leg or both.
DCHhorsemanship horse training boils down to creating a attitude – posture –that produces softness – willingness and ability to communicate with a horse step by step resistance free. My horse training includes all disciplines. Specializes in colt starting for that great start to finished ranch horses.
