What does your self image have to do with your horse and your riding experience? The way you see yourself is going to have a tremendous influence on your relationship between you and your horse. The fact is that your self image affects everyone that you come into contact with. Most people have been programmed to have a negative view of themselves. This view was formed in our subconscious mind by the people around us from the time we were first born until we were old enough to make decisions for ourselves! By the time we were old enough to make decisions on our own though, we already had a set of beliefs and habits that were influencing our lives and most of us were unaware that we were programmed to think and act the way we do. This view of ourselves works like a ceiling and there is no way that we can rise above it until we are fortunate enough to be taught how to replace the old limiting self image with a purposely formed new image of our choosing this time around. This is the good news.
You can change your negative self image to a brand new happy, healthy new one that will have you walking and talking with confidence to know that you can achieve what you desire to in this life when you make the decision to change. Since horses are looking for a leader with confidence and your self image is directly connected to that image then this is why your self image has so much influence on your relationship between you and your horse. Horses are extremely sensitive to reading our level or lack of confidence. The self image is one of the best places to begin developing so that you become the horseman you have dreamed of.
